George Foster bobblehead kicks off the month of May with events featuring the Reds Hall of Famer

Foster signing two weekends in May and is featured on a new Riverfront Stadium site tour

May 3rd, 2024

The Reds Hall of Fame and Museum presented by Dinsmore is proud to announce the release of a new George Foster bobblehead available in May that celebrates the Reds Hall of Famer’s franchise home run record.

On Sept. 23, 1977, Foster became the first player in Reds history to hit 50 home runs in a season when he blasted a solo shot to deep left field off the Braves’ Buzz Capra in Atlanta, a moment that inspired the design of this bobblehead.

Foster’s 52 home runs and 149 RBI in 1977 set club records that still stand today. He also led the league in runs scored, total bases and slugging percentage on his way to being named the National League’s Most Valuable Player. He was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 2003.

The Foster bobblehead, presented by Dinsmore, is free with regular-price paid admission to the Reds Hall of Fame (or a Great American Ball Park Tour) beginning May 4 and will be available Saturdays and Sundays through May, while supplies last. There is a limit of one bobblehead per visitor per day.

The 2024 Collectible Gift Series runs through September and features a memorable Reds home run hitter each month:

  • May: George Foster – Franchise record-setting 52-home run season
  • June: Barry Larkin – MLB’s first 30/30 shortstop
  • July: Jay Bruce – 2010 Division clinching home run
  • August: Todd Frazier – 2015 Home Run Derby champion
  • September: Johnny Bench – 1972 NLCS home run

The George Foster bobblehead release is the first in a series of events in May highlighting the career of the Reds Hall of Famer.
