LEARNING WITH THE LEGENDS...

"Sometimes, all of us need to be reminded that this is just a kids' game. We just happen to be grown men playing it."
--Mike Stanton, New York Yankees

How do you figure a batting average? What exactly is the "sweet spot" on a bat? How do good sportsmanship and teamwork figure into everyday life? These questions can be answered with one of Legends of the Game Baseball Museum and Learning Center's innovative and engaging educational programs. Using baseball as the unifying theme, programs at Legends of the Game can teach the young (and the young at heart) about history, geography, math, physical exercise, and just about anything else you can imagine.

Batty at the Ballpark:
Legends of the Game Baseball Museum and Learning Center will host Batty at the Ballpark on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Bring your family to the Museum for a day of Halloween festivities! Participants will receive a ticket redeemable for a free ballpark tour with every Batty at the Ballpark ticket purchased. Children in costume will be entered in a drawing to win a Texas Rangers autographed baseball. Cost is $7.00 for ages 3 and up. Ballpark After Dark Sleepovers:
Set up camp among the legends! One of the most popular overnight programs in the Metroplex, Legends of the Game sleepovers include an evening full of baseball activities. Participants hit and pitch in the Rangers' batting cages, tour the Museum, learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, proper stretching, and complete a baseball-related craft. The evening winds down with a light snack and a baseball movie. In the morning, overnighters are treated to a Ballpark tour and a walk around the warning track. The program is designed for children in grades 1-5 and is great for scouts, church youth groups, ball teams, or any group just wanting to get together and have a great time in a great facility!
